I recently applied successfully Will's mods to several DNN 9 sites (and was even able to switch DNN 7 and 8 sites to Google Universal)

Tango, I'm sure you have this problem solved by now but for the many who still land here, just take the code snippet you get from Google and drop in to the head section of your site settings. Go to Site Settings / Site Behavior tab and at the bottom you'll see HTML Page Header Tags. Drop the script code in there and you should be seeing Google Analytics data in no time.

Until there is a free Google analytics module added back into DNN, I think this is the simplest way to add Google Analytics.

Super Simple

I'd suggest you check out Google Tag Manager: https://www.google.com/analytics/tag-... once installed in the head section of your website, Tag Manager supports both Google and third-party tags and you can launch new tags with just a few clicks without having to touch the website.

Absolutely agree. Tag Manager has been my number 1 solution since the google analytics feature was removed from DNN. It's very easy to install and use, piece of cake actually. Through it I have added adwords remarketing, adwords conversion even facebook pixel code.

1. First setup a FREE GOOGLE ANALYTICS ACCOUNT.

2. LOGIN to your site.

3. Under that left hand menu (Persona Bar) go to Site Settings. (Bottom socket icon on left side). Click that.

4. Click the SITE BEHAVIOR TAB.

5. CUT AND PASTE THE GOOGLE CODE SNIPPET for the TRACKING CODE provided to you on their sign up page into the PAGE OUTPUT SETTINGS.  Put it at the very top and move the META CONTENT tag to the bottom below </SCRIPT>

6. CLICK SAVE

7. RELOAD PAGES and VIEW SOURCE.  It should be visible now.
