Social Collaboration Questions and Answers Page Provides Expert Knowledge Exchange

San Mateo, CA – March 5, 2012 – DotNetNuke Corp., the global leader in adaptive web software that keeps a business’ online presence relevant and effective, today announced the availability of Community Exchange, a new online service on the dnnsoftware.com website where community members can socially collaborate, ask questions, and exchange critical information on DotNetNuke products. The Community Exchange is powered by a new Q&A module that is now freely available in the open source DotNetNuke Extensions Forge.

The Community Exchange is open to anyone and gives people the opportunity to post questions on any topic related to website development. Questions can be shared via LinkedIn, Twitter and Google+. Other community members can then post answers and everyone can vote on the usefulness of the exchange. The more popular an exchange is rated, the higher it appears on the site. Tags associated with questions and answers make it easy for people to search for specific topics and content. In addition, the entire Community Exchange is "reputation based;” the more members participate the more privileges they earn. Members can also subscribe to specific topics, making it easier to stay abreast of topics of interest and strengthen understanding of important technology trends, issues and best practices.

“Our new social collaboration exchange is part of our mission to help our customers connect with each other in meaningful and productive ways,” stated Shaun Walker, CTO and founder of DotNetNuke Corp. “This facilitated social interaction model makes it even faster and easier for the one million people in the DotNetNuke community to collaborate and obtain critical knowledge. The reputation-based model also makes it fun for everyone to participate, while at the same time building credibility for the content.”

Reputation is a rough measure of community trust, communication skills and the quality and relevancy of content. The more reputation points an individual earns, the more privileges they are granted. For example, users with 15 reputation points or more can create a post, flag posts and vote up questions and answers. The reputation system for Community Exchange is fully integrated into the reputation point system for the larger DotNetNuke Community, making it easier for members to gain recognition for contributions across a broad spectrum of contribution models.

The Community Exchange is based on a new Q&A module now available to all DotNetNuke customers free of charge from the online Extensions Forge. This module empowers the creation of a question and answer-based model for any site, on any topic.
