Hi

I'm new to DNN, so I'm still getting to grips with some of the concepts and might be asking a stupid question.

I've got a new blank site up and running and I've managed to create a new skin that is also up and running. So far so good. What I've noticed though is that the Admin section of the site e.g. browsing to "/Admin" or "/Host", uses my new skin and not the default DNN skin. There doesn't seem to be any way to change this? I know you can change the "Edit" skin, but that's not what I'm talking about.

So now when I go to "Host | Extension" I get the "Extensions" admin page embedded inside my skin... with all of the headers and footers and other "fluff" that I really don't need (or want) on the admin pages.

I've done some googling but can't find a solution and most of the results are very outdated (it seems like DNN has had some fairly major changes in the past).

In closing: can I have the skin of the "Admin" site (not the "Edit" template) different from the main site?

ps - I found this link with someone experiencing the same problem: http://www.dnncreative.com/Forum/tabid/88/aft/31664/%5BLink%5D. But either I can't find the settings or this isn't valid anymore (it's from 2011... that's about the most recent info I could find).

Thanks

Greg

go to page Settings of /admin and /host, apply the Skin you like and use button to copy design to child pages.

Ah great thanks, found it!

For any one else reading this you need to go to "Admin | Page Management". When that page loads you'll see a treeview down the left hand side. Right click the "Admin" node, select "Page Settings" and then the "Advanced Settings" tab. Select the skin & container and click the "Update" button at the bottom. Once that has applied return to the "Advanced Settings" tab and click the "Copy "Design" button next to the "Copy design to descendants" label.

That will update your "Admin" pages. To update your "Host" pages select the "Host Pages" radio button above the treeview and repeat the process.
