Hi,

I use the DNN Gallery Module. When I upload pictures, they get compressed to a small format in order to save space. However, I noticed that all the pictures are also saved in a folder called Source. In order to save space, I would like to delete the pictures in that folder. My question now is: Can I do that or does it harm my Gallery?

Kind regards,

René Blanc

As I recall the image files stored in an album's _source folder are used for both the "Download" menu command and for re-building the reduced size viewer and thumbnail images using the "Maintenance" menu command. I suspect that an exception might be thrown during execution of the "Download" command if the source image file is missing. I would suggest you try deleting one of the source image files (using the album's "Maintenance" command so that the reference to the deleted source file is also properly removed from the DNN database Files table) and test to see what happens when executing a "Download" of this image.
