Now that DNN is on GitHub, it is much easier to submit code fixes. I'd like to see DNN put monetary bounties on bugs to get the community really involved, get bugs fixed quicker, and save DNN Corp a lot of money.
DNN really needs to put more effort into fixing verified bugs reported by paying customers. If they would put a bounty on these bugs, they could get fixed much qucker.
Ex: Customer Acme Widgets reports a bug to DNN and it is verified and reproducible. DNN can then assign a bounty to the bug and publish this bounty on their Jira site via a custom Jira property.
The bug is not serious and would just take a few hours to fix. A community member sees the bug, fixes it and issues a pull request. The fix is verified and merged into the code so it is ready for deployment into the next release.
DNN sends the developer $200 as a thank you. They developer profits, the customer gets their bug fixed, and DNN saves several hours of development time and lessen the burden on their engineers.
