Good day,

I have added several external libraries to a custom module that is being developed, e.g. kendo.all.min.js.

This specific file is rather large @2.8mb and makes pages that use it rather sluggish to refresh.

Looking at browser's network tab in the console shows:

/kendoui/js/kendo.all.min.js?_=1367715372684

So a unique timestamp gets added to referenced objects, which then ignores all the caching options set in IIS, config files etc.

Hope someone as a way around this problem.

how did you include the library, are you registering for use with DNN client resource management?

Firstly, apologies if this is the second (or even) third time this reply is posted.

Hi Sebastian,

I included the library with a simple <script> tag in the html file that I am loading into the main ascx.

<script src="/scripts/kendoui/js/kendo.all.min.js"></script>

I am unfortunately not sure about Client Resource Management.

I did change most settings in Servers -> Performance, to no avail.

Here are the settings at present:

* Page State Persistence: Page

* Caching Provider: FileBasedCachingProvider

* Module Cache Provider: Momory

* Page Output Cache Provider: Memory

* Cache Setting: HeavyCaching

* Authenticated Cachability: Public

* Unauthenticated Cachability: Public

* SSL for Cache Synchronization: Off (and can't get this change to save)

Client Resource Management:

* Current Host Version:155 (Haven't incremented this)

* Client Resource Management Mode: Global

* Enable Composite File: On

* Enable Minify CSS: On

* Enable Minify JS: On

I have off course messed with most of these settings (except Page State Persitence and Current Host version), to no avail.

Thanks very much for looking,

Regards,

Arthur

DNN uses to have a dedicated command to register JS scripts to be loaded appropriately, please refer to the wiki / dev documentation for details.
