Hi,

There is a file Banner.aspx
located at /install/banner.aspx
There is a line with:

public string vbhLn = "ASPXSpy"

My virus scanner marks this file as a virus.
Is it save to remove this file from dnn?
Is this file still in use?

Regards, Ton

Tom,

What version of DNN are you using? I believe that file is an older file that may have shown during an install at some point.

One option is to try renaming the file (perhaps removing the word "spy" from it) and see if that gets your virus scanner to not flag it. If any issues arise then just rename it back to what it was.

there should be no banner.aspx in /install.folder.
Did you install latest SecurityAnalyzer module and check your site?

Hi both :-)

Thanks for the answers.
I have installed the dnn hotfix and latest security analyzer.
Also I removed this banner aspx.

great!
.aspx and .asp files can be executed on their own and are always suspect to be hacking attacks.
