There are 3 resource files: SYSTEM,HOST, SITE.

What are differences between them?

System is default resource file, delivered with DNN and extensions (no extension, en-US by Default) or installed as language pack (all other languages).
Host is a local file overwriting System resources for all websites in your DNN installation.
Site is overwriting System and Host for current website only.

so the XXx.RESC files from V7.4, can replace the V8.0.4 ? I did so, seems work but not sure all words are transalted.

newer Versions usually contain additional keys (and some rare times, keys are removed)
