Can someone provide some guidance on how to warn users before being being automatically logged out (inactivity, expired cookie). I have seen some articles on session timeout from several years ago:

http://www.codeproject.com/Articles/227382/Alert-Session-Time-out-in-ASP-Net

http://www.codeproject.com/Articles/239798/Session-Timeout-Warning-and-Redirect

I have enabled persistent cookies and see that there is a setting for forms "timeout" in the webconfig but not clear on how to implement. When I tried the two methods above I just received internal errors. Is there a simple, straightforward way to do this? or some updated documentation? Please point me in the right direction. Any help is appreciated.
