I think I am reading this right, that permissions to edit a single module inside a page, e.g., HTML content, can be granted without giving permissions to add, delete or change anything else on a page.  Here is what I have set up now for the page called "Sandbox":

page level settings

module level settings

But when I log into that account (jschlosser), I just see the normal editing options that I have when I log in as a host, but not the edit icon for the HTML module.  What am I missing?  Thanks!

I found that that account had been assigned as an administrator when it was imported, so that is another thing I need to look into.  Ugh.

I have removed that and now, that user doesn't see any editing options at all when logged in and on that page.

Be cautious with your Deny permissions as well. All Users DON'T automatically have Edit permissions in a module. It should be the most restrictive permissions that apply (although Administrator can Edit despite explicit Deny).

Note: deny permission always override granted permission
