This might be a silly question since I'm not super familiar with friendly urls settings.

We recently upgraded our DNNArticle Module and before the upgrade each article's url was listed like this

now it's listing them like this

It's not a huge deal but we have a ton of emails and bitlys set up to go to the old url and now those are all showing 404 errors. I was told this can be fixed, but to fix it it would break all of our short links. (example because they don't include the .aspx. They said it was because the way we create our short urls. (We add a file into the ftp at the root and put a line of text in there that says to redirect to the full url page.

Any suggestion on what would be the best way to fix this problem. I want our old survey urls to work, but I don't want to have to fix all of our short urls (we have hundreds). What is best practice. How do other people create short urls?

you should ask the module developer/vendor for support.
