I understood that the cleanup component in the manifest allows to delete files that are no longer needed. This is also described in the Wiki and works fine.

My question: Is it possible to remove entire directories and entries from the web.config? I have a (quite old) module to upgrade to DNN8, and there are some files in the /App_Code/MyModule folder, and an entry in the web config to be removed (from the codeSubDirectories section).

Or how would you do that? (Manually is not an option!)

Happy DNNing!
Michael

I recall that I had to do this a few year's back. Here's the config component from the manifest:

<component type="Config">
               <config>
                  <configFile>web.config</configFile>
                  <install>
                      <configuration>
                         <nodes>
                             <node path="configuration/system.web/compilation/codeSubDirectories/add[@directoryName='WESNet_EPrayer']" action="remove" />
                         </nodes>
                      </configuration>
                  </install>
                  <uninstall>
                      <configuration>
                          <nodes></nodes>
                      </configuration>
                  </uninstall>
                </config>
        </component>

And a portion of the file and App_Code subfolder removal in the cleanup file:

App_Code\WESNet_EPrayer\StatusInfo.vb
App_Code\WESNet_EPrayer\SubjectContactInfo.vb
App_Code\WESNet_EPrayer\UserInfo.vb
App_Code\WESNet_EPrayer\Utilities.vb
App_Code\WESNet_EPrayer\

Thanks, Bill - that was what I was looking for but could not find it...

Just a short update: The line

      <node path="configuration/system.web...

must be

      <node path="/configuration/system.web...

Happy DNNing!
