 Hello,

I recently  found out that DNN does not support Gzip Compression anymore. Is there any way to get around this, perhaps making changes in the web.config file as suggested in different posts and forums or is there a Gzip substitute for compressing files in DNN. Site is running very slow and according to GTMetrix enabling Gzip compression is a top priority.

Thank you,

Regards
Ameen

you should enable compression in IIS website configuration.
You might need to install the components, if not present.
It will increase performance a little bit, however, there are more significant points, like combining files, output caching and improving database performance.

I doubt that compression will solve your problem.

If it's *very* slow then I would only expect compression to make a difference if you have a shockingly slow connection between client and server.

Thanks for the reply guys....I will look into the other suggestion stated but in the mean time can you tell me how to enable compression in IIS website configuration and how to check if it is enabled?

you need to have the compression feature installed and may enable it using IIS management console.
