This is a perplexing problem.  Host SMTP settings work -  ie:  a test email can be sent and received, but no emails can be sent in some parts  of DNN:

Newsletter module won't send emails

Member password resets are not sent

Yet forum notifications work fine... isn't email services applied uniformly across the applications infrastructure?  How is this possible?

Its also not sending password reset messages - which means my membership cannot login.  That's a real problem that I would really like to sort out.... any ideas out there?

please check the email address of the user account specified as "Administrator" in site Settings.
It might not be allowed in your SMTP Server to send mails.

Hi Sebastian,

In the "Site Settings" - there is no place for any email address - I checked all tabs: Basic Settings, Advanced Settings, User Account Settings, Stylesheet EditorAdvanced and URL Settings.

Did you meant "Host Settings"?  Then in that case... in the Basic Settings > Host Details > Host Email, the address is an email account I have configured in the site email account settings control panel provided by the Arvixe web-hosting system.

Please clarify...

Rob,
in Admin > Site Settings, there is a User specified as "Administrator" (2nd tab).
In Admin > User Management you will find the email address associated with this user.
