I upgraded to DNN 7.4.1 and this is what I see when I log in as admin and open a new page:

2 layers of Internal Server Error (500) popups and a welcome to your website popup which doesn't care if I check "Don't show this again". When I close the Welcome popup it shows another Internal server error popup:

The 3 errors what I see in the Log Viewer:

A few additional information:

  • I found similar issues on this forum but switching to Controlbar/Ribbonbar didn't fix the problem.
  • There's no DesktopModules/InternalServices folder
  • There's only one portal (ID = 0)
  • I registered a new host user but that one works the same

what version did you upgrade from (It may be service framework related so the version is important)

check the portalalias table to see if there are duplicates - also please check and see if the dbo.EventLog is there - the exception suggests it's not e.g. perhaps an objectqualifier was used by mistake when upgrading

There are no duplicates in the PortalAlias table and dbo.EventLog is in place.
