I am super interested in the new platform. Where can we get when more info about it? Did the coding started already? Does a repo exist? Questions over questions :-)

we've been working on the design/architecture internally but don't have a public repository to share yet - we delayed the start of neXt for a few reasons, the primary being that we decided to bring forward the dynamic content creator (DCC) module. It was planned on being a fundamental part of neXt but we realised that it would be good to add it to DNN first. Aside from that we worked on adding SPA and MVC module extension types to DNN as they'll both be key in neXt. DNN/SPA/MVC all mean that users of DNN will be able to use those items to futureproof their sites and ensure a migration to neXt is easier and brings over more functionality.

Furthermore the separation of admin modules is needed to ensure that we can build up neXt's platform intelligently, focusing on key aspects first without bringing over a lot of unnecessary clutter. The wiki page for 8.0.0 has useful information about some of these new features -
