I'm building custom modules using AJAX calls to WebServices. What I have is working fine - the module begins as a .ascx file with a .ascx.cs code behind file which loads the .js file (client side script) and the .asmx file (server side WebServices). For more details on what exactly I'm doing here, check out the tutorial by Michael Washington - http://www.adefwebserver.com/dotnetnukehelp/Misc/Dotnetnuke_AJAX_webservices.htm

So, I'm trying to extend those methods a bit by creating some shared resources. I have several modules with several controls each. I was able to easily add multiple client side .js files to the modules so that I could put common functions and properties in one place and have module specific code in another.

Here is where I am stuck. I cannot figure out how to do that on the server side. I want to put common server side script into a single shared file so that the WebServices in each control's .asmx file can call them but nothing I've tried is working.

Thanks in advanced to anyone who can help me!

Put them in a DLL, add a reference to the library.

Is there any way to do it without a compiled DLL? I like the flexibility of keeping the files as source - easier to edit and debug on the fly.
