Hi all,

I configured in DNN 7  with different languages (en/it/fr/de/es).

All the pages are reachable using the url with the culture code inside it, and this mechanism works well:

www.mysite.com/en-us/myproduct  : english page
www.mysite.com/fr-fr/myproduct : french page...

It's possibile to apply the language auto detect on every page in order to redirect to the correct page ?

If i have a en-us browser and I type "www.mysite.com/myproduct " i will receive the page "www.mysite.com/en-us/myproduct "

If I have a french browser  and I type "www.mysite.com/myproduct " i will receive the page "www.mysite.com/fr-fr/myproduct "

Is this possible without writing custom code and using the administration tools that DNN offers?

Best regards,

language is determined the first time you access a site, either from browser preference or site default language (if no preferred language supported).
For authenticated users, language is taken from user profile. If user switches language manually, this selection will be kept for the session.

Yes, I know this mechanism and in fact I'm talking about the first contact to the web site.

Is it possible to load the correct language version of a localized page using the browser language detection feature ?

Suppose I have a localized version of a page:

tabid: 700  page name:myproduct  culture: en-us
tabid: 701  page name:myproduct  culture: fr-fr

French User calls www.mysite.com/myproduct and should be redirected to page with tabid 701
English User calls www.mysite.com/myproduct and should be redirected to page with tabid 700

Is this possible ?

this should happen, if you properly configure your Website aliases, i.e. have one preferred one for French and another preferred one for English

Hello Sebastian, thank you for your support.

I don't see DNN work in such a way.

I configured N alias, all primary for the same domain:

www.mysite.com  language "empty", primary
www.mysite.com/en-us language en-us, primary
www.mysite.com/fr-fr language fr-fr, primary
www.mysite.com/es-es language es-es, primary

The domain is the same.

I also configured the pages in order to have the same page name in all the languages, so I have

http://www.mysite.com/en-us/mypage      (tabid:700)
http://www.mysite.com/fr-fr/mypage          (tabid:701)
http://www.mysite.com/es-es/mypage       (tabid:702)

And these pages work well.

What I see is that if I call www.mysite.com/mypage "without the culture code" the browser detection doesn't work, and is loaded the latest localized page (by tabid order), in this example www.mysite.com/es-es/mypage

I think that the problem may reside in the same page title that I configured on the localized pages.

When you localize a page DNN offers different page title for the localized pages, i.e. mypage (FR) and mypage (ES).

I configured the same page title in order to have the url ending in the same way in all the languages. But it seems that this configuration may interfere with the browser detection feature. Am I missing something ?
