I'm getting some "blocked resources" errors on my site in Google Web Master tools. Most of them are noted in the errors list on WMT for /Portals/ resources.

The robots.txt file has /Portals/ disallowed by default.

I'm not sure what the logic was to block this by default, but should I unblock it to allow google access to index that data?

IMHO it doesn't make sense to disallow /Portals, as these folders contain your images and documents.

Sebastian;

I found this question and your somewhat-helpful answer while looking for info on this matter. When running the Google Mobile-Friendly test today, I also discovered that there were a number of pages that Googlebot didn't have access to and believe that I should make them available. Despite using DNN for almost five years now, however, I am a mere mortal and have no idea of how I would go about "unblocking" access to these files! I'm presuming there's a setting within DNN (I'm running 7.02.02) to do this - but I have no idea of where to find it! Can you at least point me in the right direction?

Ian

What would be the consequences of Allowing /Portals/ and also /DesktopModules/ ? Both of these are blocked and Google Mobile Friendly test says it needs those to display the page accurately. My concern is that I will open up the search to something that needs to stay private. Is there anything standard in DNN that could be opened up that shouldn't by Allowing these?

private file types cannot be accessed by Google, only HTML templates etc. might be affected.
