Hi everyone,

I am tasked with creating something like the projects carousel in the above image. No problem using a jquery slider, on a static HTML site, however I need the users to be able to go and 'add' a division (with its accompanying image, text, link to a page, etc) to the list. Any ideas how I can achieve this in a clean, professional way using a DNN module?

I first thought of using a customised image carousel module eg. EasyDNNGallery ... but the UI to add an item needs to be much simpler and less generic for a corporate user.

Secondly I thought of writing  my own module from scratch that allows adding an 'item' to a new database table, the module then reads the data and generates divs that jQuery slider styles .... but this seems like a lot of work!

Is there anything out there that anyone can suggest ? I dont mind doing some coding but I'm also concious that there must be something out there that will get me some of the way .... can I perhaps leverage custom tables or something else in DNN for the database part? Any ideas appreciated, thanks in advance....

 Rob

If you have done any coding in the past - doing a quick module write yourself will always get you the cleanest result.
Outputting the div in your own module is reasonably simple - could all be handled in a data repeater.

You could also try the forms and lists module - It will let you populate a table and set up simple data entry forms.
The module lets you do things like upload images etc - so would give you the result u need.
Then you could write an XSLT script to generate the HTML markup to create the carousel layout based on the data in the custom table.

Hi

I would go with owl carousel jquery plugin and to create the admin interface go with 2sexycontent, both are free

I used it for the multi item carousel and the banner on this page http://www.2dnn7.com/Default.aspx?ali...

Thanks both for your suggestions, I will try the modules you mention Armand but otherwise I agree Wes it may be cleaner to just get on and do some work myself !
