Does anyone know what might cause DNN to put multiple versions of the same module on a page when the page is created? I have a site with 5 modules that are set to appear on every page (footer, search, etc.) and when a new page is created, I'm getting like 7 duplicates of each of them on the page. It used to happen with the main portal, and now it's happening with another one.

Any ideas how to fix this?

Version 7.0.03 (at the moment, should be updated this weekend)

Thanks

Do you have a PAGE TEMPLATE setup that you are using when creating the page?

It might be that you have multiple modules on various pages that are set to "display on all pages" but also have the "only on new" pages option. So that when you create a page, it creates one for each of those.

I don't have a template set up, I've just been adding new pages and setting the skin/container options... It hasn't been an issue until today, though.

One thing you could do is check out the Module ID for each of the duplicate modules. See if they are all the same, or if they are unique IDs. It might be that you need to go through and clean up any modules that are configured to be "display on all pages".

Typically I would do that by emptying the recycle bin (admin/recycle bin)

Go to one page where the modules are correct. For each module, go to the module settings, uncheck the Display On All pages option.

Check to see if any of the other pages have the modules on them, they shoudln't, but any you come across should be checked (make sure display on all pages is off in module settings) then deleted.

Empty the recycle bin.

Go back to the page, and turn display on all pages on again for the modules you want duplicated..

This is a known issue of early DNN 7 Versions, I strongly suggest upgrading to a recent Version (7.3.4 atm)
