Good Day,

I wonder if there is any way or method to extend the views of the modules that are in the folder DesktopModules on another location or inside the skins or portals?

let me explain, I have a major portal and subportal. subportal needs some modules have a different presentation and design than the principal; then I want to know if  can duplicate or extend the file *vew.ascx for that subportal and adapt the view  contents, such for example changing the html tables to divs to make it responsive.

the idea is:

/Portals/{subPortalNameorID}/Modules/DDRMenu/MenuView.ascx  <- (example) modified version to subportal

My thought is that you could just detect what the current portal id is and load a different view control for your module.

This is a condensed version but...

1 One your main view control have a placeholder control...

<asp:PlaceHolder id="phControl" runat="server"></asp:PlaceHolder>

2. Then on the page load check the portal id and load an ascx in the placeholder.

Here is a link to an example of what I am talking about: http://jimfrenette.com/2012/02/dotnetnuke-module-control-options/
