hi everyone

i have a dn website in which i change database from sqlexpress to another sql server since then the website displays this error message when i try to run it:

"404 Not Found

The requested Url does not return any valid content.

Change this message by configuring a specific 404 Error Page or Url for this website."

i just want to retrace how i can display my home page like did before the data base change

could you please explain where does the solution get to the home page to display since it never displayed the default.aspx page

404 doesn't necessarily mean an issue connecting to the database.
What exectly did you change - and be aware that only SQL Express supports user instance database ("database.mdf" in both connection strings in web.config), all other editions require attached database (identified by name and requiring authorization).
