Hi.
I have a strange situation at the moment in that we created a portal site on our commnunity edition of dnn 7, set it up with an alias so it can be accessed externally.
We installed a new resposive skin, logos, favicon et etc and mocked up the home page and menu to show the potential customer what we can do for him.
Now internally the site runs perfectly, but if connecting externally using http://testsite.ourdomain.com the site opens with the default gravity skin?? ,it has the correct menu items but no content.

however if you click the home page menu it then loads the skin and content correctly but with a missing logo.
I have been through all the setting in admin and host and cannot see what else I can do. Has anyone experienced a similar problem?

I've seen something similar happen where a user had the DNN site behind a load balancer that was also used as an SSL-offloading device - this should have received a request such as https://www.mysite.com, and the ssl-offloader forwarded it on as http://www.mysite.com, but it was misconfigured and instead forwarded it on as an IP address e.g. http://192.168.1.0. When the request arrived to the DNN site, a lookup was done and no portal alias of 192.168.1.0 was found, but as auto add site alias was enabled (http://www.dnnsoftware.com/help#Docum... alias), it was added as a alias for the default portal. I suspect you'll have something similar with some sort of network address translation/forwarded request - you may get some useful information if you look into the request/response in a http proxy such as fiddler e.g. it may contain some header fields that indicate if proxying is going on
