I have a DNN484 website that I see with 2 names -

How do I set that will redirect to

In DNN6 Admin/Site Settings/Site Alias, I can choose Canonical and the portal alias default. How do I set the same in an old DNN484?

no, not via the UI - you can do it via the config/SiteUrls.config file

OK. How do I do this?
Can you write here the code I need to put in siteusrls.config?

I found a post here -

I don't understand the solution they found there.
Here is what Limno suggested as a code for solving it -

You can use URLRewrite  module installed with IIS 7 for your site:

Here is the code part in your webconfig you can write directly to the file

<rule name="301 redirect from non-www to www">
<match url="(.*)" />
<conditions logicalGrouping="MatchAll" trackAllCaptures="false">
<add input="{HTTP_HOST}" pattern="^www\.mydomain\.com$" negate="true" />
<action type="Redirect" url="{R:1}" />

I tried to put the code in my web.config file but I get error.

Is it a code for web.config?
Can you help?

If I have a website, what do I need to do with the following code-
<add input="{HTTP_HOST}" pattern="^www\.mydomain\.com$" negate="true" />

Do I need to change to
<add input="{HTTP_HOST}" pattern="^www\.example\$" negate="true" />
