Hi Nukers,

When you uninstall a module, should it also remove the .dlls and database tables?

I notice that a site that used to have the core DNN Store module still has the .dlls and database tables.  Is this by design, or just a poor uninstaller?

 Thanks,

Rod

All files and database artifacts should be deleted!  Did you check the delete all files Checkbox on the uninstall wizard? So if it is not deleted it is a bug or there are permission issues on the database and files.

Hi Mattias,

Thanks for the info. I always check the "remove files" checkbox whever I uninstall a module.

In such a scenario, would re-installing the module, then uninstalling it clean it up? If not, is it safe to manually delete database tables and dlls?

Thanks,
Rod

if uninstall does not remove all files and database objects, you should clear it yourself manually, re-install might fail otherwise.

Thanks for the info Sebastian.

As mentioned, one of the modules that didn't uninstall correctly is the DNN store module. So it's OK to manually drop all of the SQL tables that start with dbo.store ?

And then delete any .dll files that begin with "DotNetNuke.Modules.Store..."

Thanks
Rod
