I like to use the default 404 error page solutions of DNN so I changed the Friendly Url mode to "Advanced" (as explained on the website http://www.dnnsoftware.com/wiki/page/DNN-404-Handling ).

Now the url rewrite doesn't show any parameter in the url, also no language parameter, great and SEO friendly?
This works great for websites with one language but when a website is multilanguage the language switch doesn't work any more.

When there's a page that exists in several languages the default language is shown.
For example "Home" or "Contact". So you need to have a unique translation for each language.
But unfortunately there's not always a unique pagename translation for each language.

Anyone also noticed this problem. Is there a workaround/fix?

Please help?

please check Languages in Admin menu, 2nd tab, whether option "include language in querystring" has been enabled.

Sorry, but I can't find the setting "include language in querystring". The 2nd tab is : "Content Localization".

Can you send me a screendump of the setting?

Thanks again Sebastian.

Willem,
in DNN 7.1.x, the 2nd tab is called settings and contains a checkbox "Enable Language Parameter in URLs? "

Thanks!

I found out why there's some confusion

The 2nd tab is "Settings" when Localized Content isn't enabled.
As soon as you enable localized content the third tab is "Settings" and  the option "include language in querystring" is not there anymore.
