I posted a thread yesterday but the thread never appeared in the forum. Hoping that this one will.
I am running DNN 6.0 CE. I have 2 web servers running (Web01, Web02). The both use local storage to store the DNN instance. We have Windows DFS replication configured to keep the 2 servers in sync. We have been running this setup for a few months now and it works perfectly. However, in the last few months we have only been developing the site. We have recently went live and are noticing caching problems. Items will be added to Web02 but will not appear on web01. If I log in to DNN on web01 and clear the cache then everything appears like it should.
I understand that DNN CE supports a web farm like I have setup. I also understand that it is limited to File Caching. File Caching is fine for us. However, if the cache is being stored as a file and then replicated to the other server, shouldn't both servers stay in sync? Replication has been tested and is working perfectly.
I have read where DNN uses a file watcher to make changes to cache files in this situation. However, DNN may need to know its in a web farm to start this process. When I go to host settings and view the "Is Web Farm" the box is NOT checked. I have poured through documentation on the internet and cannot find out how to enable this on DNN 6.0 CE.
Can someone point me in the right direction? Are my caching problems caused by DNN not knowing its in a web farm? And if so, how do I tell DNN its in one?
