Hi folks;

When I edit an event, or create a new event, the default editor is set at "Rich Text" not "Plain Text". Since I am using the contents of this description field in SQL Server reporting, I need to have the text to be plain text without any HTML formatting. Right now, the person editing or entering events has to make sure that the "Plain Text box" radio button is checked before entering any text, which causes a page refresh. Is there a way to avoid this by setting the radio button default to "Plain Text"?  Is there another way around this?

Thanks so much,

Rigel

Hi
Make Changes in the .ascx file ie edithtml.ascx where it calls the dnn:texteditor control: to DefaultMode="Basic" /> That will default the editor to Basic text box.

Thanks,

Thanks a million Sunil!!!

It worked (without the trailing backslash...in case others refer to this solution.)

The replaced code is this:

</div>
<dnn:texteditor id="txtContent" runat="server" height="400" width="100%" DefaultMode="Basic"></dnn:texteditor>
</div>

Of course, it is universal and defaults to the basic editor all over the site. but I really needed it here for usability for event editors. That is the most used page... and critical for reporting that there is only plain text in the description field in the database.
