I don't want this to be confused with "users being able to sign into multiple DNN child portals on the same site with the same DNN master portal login".  What I need is to have users log into a single Windows Azure-based DNN 7 portal via some kind of HTTP-friendly single sign-on mechanism...most likely ADFS 2.0, but the client may be open to considering other standards like OpenID-LDAP.  Are there any planned or current core features or modules that could help with this?  For example, as an ASP.NET-based product, will DNN eventually have Windows Identity Foundation (WIF) support built-in?  I assume that can also be implemented modularly, correct?

Another thing I'd expect to see in DNN is support for Windows Azure Active Directory (WAAD), which is their REST-based API to enable single sign-on for any AD, Microsoft Live, Google, Yahoo! and Facebook accounts.  To boost usage on Azure (which is now a $1+ billion business for MS), there's no reason not to put that on the feature list...Microsoft would probably even contribute.

I realize we can probably code a custom registration module and implement our own simplified and proprietary single-sign on method, but I'd much rather target an industry standard.  And I'll be really, really surprised if I discover that there's really nothing out there that addresses SSO adequately in DotNetNuke by now...

Hi,

There is a nice article on single sign on functionality for dotnetnuke. You can find the detail on this link.

Thanks,

The article details one potential solution for a custom-coded module, yes, although it doesn't implement any of the protocols I was hoping for and is somewhat rudimentary by today's standards. Is there nothing out there with SAML, WS-Security, etc.?
