Hi ,

As per my requirement i am creating Custom registration and Custom Login Page(as New Modules) Also.But  in DNN  password  is storing in aspnet_members table in Hash format.

Can any body help me to find out  how DNN is doing PasswordHash and Passwordsalt.And also while logining in a user what Database tables/column are updating.I would like  replicate same logic in my custom modules .

Thanks,

Nagasekhar.K

DNN does not handle the hash formatting itself - it is handled by the asp.net membership provider system.

More importantly though - you should always use the native dnn api calls when doing things like creating a new member.

Yes there is nothing wrong with creating your own rego or login module - but internally in that module you need to make calls to the dnn api to handle the rego and login type processes.

Hi Sekhar,

You can use the dnn api to create you custom log in as well as registration module.

Like for creating new user you can use the below api.
DotNetNuke.Entities.Users.UserController.CreateUser(ref objUserInfo);
while for user login, you can use,
UserController.UserLogIn()
