Hello. I'm working on a skin and am excited that its been working great in Firefox and Google chrome. The issue I'm having is that for some reason IE is the only browser not centering my divs. When I test it as a regular HTML page it works perfect, but when I uploaded it as a skin package, its goes left. I used the following css which worked to center my divs in all but IE. Any help will be greatley appreciated:

*
{
margin: 0 auto;
padding: 0;
}

Using version 4.9.0 on a Godaddy windows hosting.

Can it have something to do with the DOCTYPE

Make an xml file in the same directory as you skin and name it: <skinname>.doctype.xml

In the xml file write the DOCTYPE ex.

<SkinDocType>
<![CDATA[<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">]]>
</SkinDocType>

Most likely the problem.

Doctype. You can find a doctype example in the minimal extropy skin.

Very Odd. I am using 4.9.3 and the skin example that came with it. Everything matches with just some minor changes to the colors and such but my skin is still left justified. I cannot see where the skin justification would be over-ridden or even set. Can someone shed some light as to what may cause a skin to do this?

Or show me the path where the alignment is actually set (if anywhere?)

Thanks,

Ron

First check that your output is in XHTML as suggested above. You should see .

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
If you do not have the doctype set, IE will not center your page. To center your page you will have
margin:0px auto; set in CSS on the container.
