Core Modules Development Team August, 2nd 2018 meeting recording

The core modules developers team had their third meeting on August, 2nd 2018 and here is the recording.

Summary:

  • Criteria for publicly recommending a replacement for any core module: Needs to be give to DnnCommunity no strings attached, Needs to be open source, Needs to be unbranded
  • We still need someone to test the upgrade script from Forums to Active Forums. Sebastian will try to get in touch with Ilpo regarding this.
  • The maps module is currently deprecated with no upgrade path
  • EPT will start working on a contributing.md file as a template for all core modules
  • Andrew could not attend this meeting, we will probably get a status update on next meeting regarding using AppVeyor on the core modules.
  • Daniel Valadas is currently working on the Gallery module, Sebastian will try to get in touch with Gille Lepigocher regarding the store module
  • Suvery: We are trying to get some statistics on the core modules usage. Daniel Valadas created a survey to get the pulse from as much people as possible, if you or your clients use any of the core modules, please take a minute to fill out the survey at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/KGF228S
  • David Poindexter will explained some differences between github wiki vs wiki pages, EPT and David will prepare a github page to show how that works.
  • EPT is evaluating tools to automate the release planning and release notes.
