And the Winner Is…

big-checkThe DNN 8 Module Challenge has come to a close and I am happy to say that we had some great modules submitted this year.  Not only did the entries provide great examples of how to build MVC and SPA modules for DNN 8, but we also had entries which pushed the boundaries on using tools and libraries like Bower, Gulp, React, Angular and others.  We had modules submitted by teams and individuals, and we even had a module submitted by a first time developer.

I want to congratulate each of our winners on a job well done.  The voting was close in each category and it was often just one or two details which separated the winners from the other entries.

I also want to take a minute to thank each of the module developers who participated this year.  Every module in the contest required numerous hours to create and document, and they provide a great foundation for learning DNN 8 development. Please take a minute to reach out and thank the developers who participated this year.

It would be interesting to have a review from the judges of highlights from the winning modules, if there are patterns of DNN MVC and SPA modules to call out. I'd love to get some insights into what makes a winning module with these new patterns and paradigms.

@Juanito, all of the modules are open source. If you go to, the Download link for each module goes to the GitHub repository. So, the winners are,,,, and

I just updated all the "view" links to point to the project. The download links all point to the release at the time of the contest.

@Brian - I will put together a blog post on some great takeaways from the contest. There were some great aspects to many modules (not just the winners) that we really liked.

Some very nice modules, and some really great ideas were showcased in the entries to the DNN8 Module Challenge. Congratulations to the winners ... and congratulations to all of the entrants!

At the risk of two much promotion, I'm sure that discussion of the Module Challenge and the modules will be a great topic of discussion at DNNCon. Both Ralph Williams and Scott Wilkinson will be presenting sessions not only their modules, but the challenges they faced and the lessons they learned in creating their modules!
