Everyone is talking social. And evidence is mounting that social collaboration has real business benefit. Social intranets drive employee productivity and increased efficiency. Communities turn customers into advocates and help grow business. The latest version of DotNetNuke builds on the already strong Web Content Management System (WCMS) capabilities that have made it the number one Web content solution in the Microsoft ecosystem. The new release enables businesses to quickly build internal social networks to improve collaboration, communication and employee productivity. It also enables the creation of external communities that turn customers into advocates, which lowers support cost and increases revenue opportunities. DotNetNuke 6.2 creates opportunities for everyone in our ecosystem. The new Social API and Service Framework will allow developers to create engaging applications to further enhance the DotNetNuke platform.
As always, remember to do a trial upgrade in a test environment and to make a file and database backup prior to upgrading to DotNetNuke 6.2. While most of your DotNetNuke 4 & 5 modules and skins will work in DotNetNuke 6.2, some of our vendors have already started releasing updated versions of their modules that take advantage of new DotNetNuke 6.2 features, so check with them to see if upgrades for your modules or skins already exist.
